Linda M. Jafari, BSBA, MPA, MDIV

Visionary & Board President

Linda trail blazes with more than 30 years of measurable success within private and public sector financial and nonprofit management. As the visionary and board President for Elderlescent Care, she is an ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and a passionate End-Of-Life and Spiritual Counselor. She believes that all seniors are entitled to live as independently as they can for as long as they can. In her own words, “I want to facilitate a change of consciousness about seniors from that of “burdens” to society to invaluable assets. Full commitment from families and communities is required to accomplish this goal. 

Charles Lynch, BASoc., MPU

Vice Chair

Charles Lynch is a United States Air Force veteran committed to helping Elderlescent Care succeed. With a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Lehman College, Mr. Lynch couples his education and experience to make a difference. He served as a Planner II for the City of Richmond, Virginia Department of Community Development from 1981 – 2004, as a Substitute Teacher for Henrico County School System from 2005 -2013, and is a Community Representative for Redeemed Assembly of Jesus Christ Church in Richmond.

Doris Annette Reid, MD

Director

Dr. Reid is a retired physician with 36 years of experience. She attended and graduated from St. Augustine’s University and Meharry Medical College School of Medicine. She completed her internship/residency training in Family Practice at North Carolina Memorial Hospital-UNC Chapel Hill and Naval Hospital Jacksonville-Jacksonville, Florida. She served in the United States Navy for 27 years and retired as a successful Captain. She successfully operated Archway 60 Family Practice as a sole proprietor for 12 years. In addition, she also served as a preceptor in various mentoring/ training programs from 1993 – 2010 at Medical college of Virginia, Old Dominion University, Chesterfield Technical Center and Bryant & Stratton College.

Melissa Y. Armstrong, ABA

Secretary

Melissa is a human resources professional with over 12 years of experience. With expertise in payroll and administration, her work spans corporate and nonprofit industries. Currently, Melissa is in her tenth year serving on the Trustee and Finance Committee at New Canaan Worship Center. She also serves with the Missions and Outreach and Women’s ministries. A native of Richmond, VA, Melissa received her Associates of Science degree in Business Administration from J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College.

Claiborne Watkins, MBA

Treasurer

Mr. Claiborne Watkins is the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Clearview Counseling Services, Inc. in Richmond, VA.  Clearview is an outpatient healthcare agency that provides skill building services to adults with mental health challenges and behavioral and emotional management services to children and adolescents. He is a military veteran with over 20 years of service in the United States Air Force.  He holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Management and Finance from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, CA.
